Suzette Arnold, President, JamCham

Suzette Arnold serves as the President of the Jamaican Chamber of Commerce of Atlanta, (JamCham). She joined the organization in 2018, and during her short tenure has strategically set out to grow the organization. She has enhanced the education program, introduced one-on-one mentorship for small business owners, and has been fully engaged in the planning and developing fundraising events for the Chamber.

Staying true to her mandate, she is a champion for women and has established JamCham’s PowHer Women’s Summit to create a space that provides opportunities for women to network, collaborate, and create partnerships with other professional groups and organizations in our community.

Her passion for service is driven by her connection to her community and the urging of the women who nurtured and raised her. She is civic-minded and illustrates this by her involvement in the community she is a part of. She frequently volunteers in the community and sometimes lends a voice for change.

Her philanthropy and service include serving as the Chairperson for the DeKalb Preparatory Academy Charter School and volunteering with the Atlanta-Montego Bay Sister Cities She is also an Adjunct Professor at a local college in Metro Atlanta.

In her professional life, Suzette is a faculty member at the University of Georgia’s Carl Vinson Institute of Government. She currently serves as the facilitation manager and instructor in the Governmental Training, Education, and Development division where she conducts training sessions for the state, local government agencies, and professional associations. She also conducts retreats for local governments and is a certified facilitator in dispute resolution, strategic planning, political integrity, and ethics.

She previously served as the director of grants and contracts with the Georgia Department of Labor and the Fulton County government. Suzette has 20+ years of experience managing project-based teams in Georgia and New York. She has expertise in social service programs involving homelessness, mental health, mental retardation, substance abuse, workforce development, housing, and community development.

She is married to her husband Michael and co-raised a son, Nicholas.

She was educated at the Bernard Baruch College, (City University of New York), where she earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration with a focus on Public Policy and Evaluation.

Lisa Ferrell – Women in Education and digital

Lisa Ferrell has worked in series and tele-film development for such companies as CBS, Lifetime Television/Hearst Entertainment, NBC and TBS. While at motion capture studio Giant Studios/Profile, she was involved in the post production of films that include New Line Cinema’s “Lord of the Rings” trilogy and Sony Imageworks animated holiday feature “Polar Express” directed by Robert Zemekis and starring Tom Hanks. She was also instrumental in creating the pilot episode for the long-running “Ripley’s Believe It or Not!” series for TBS among many other projects. Currently, Lisa works as a Professor of Practice for Georgia State University’s Creative Media Industries Institute (CMII).
